Recreational Dive Medicals

Recreational Dive Medicals

Recreational divers must complete a Recreational SCUBA Diving Medical to the Australian Dive Standard 4005.1 before they can train or dive with official diving operators. The Dive Medical focuses on assessing cardiac, pulmonary, ear, nose and throat, neurological and general health issues to ensure that the diver is not placed at undue risk.

Dr Jennifer Lau and Dr Marianne Chi are qualified to perform recreational Dive Medicals, which require two visits with the doctor.

The cost for these appointments is $150, which is paid in two separate payments at each appointment (2x $75 payments).

To book an appointment, please call us on 08 8289 1222.

Fee Increases

From July 2023, our fees have increased by a small amount. This decision has not been made lightly and is necessary due to the ongoing discrepancy between operating a general practice clinic and low increases to Medicare rebates offered by the Federal Government. A full list of fees is available at Reception. Please speak with our team if you have any questions.

Changing from Bulk-Billing to Mixed Billing

Our bulk billing policy has changed. Bulk billing will only be available to children under 16 during normal business hours. Concession card holders will incur a small gap. DVA card holders will be bulk billed at all times. For patients outside of these groups, there will be a small out-of-pocket expense for most consultations. We will continue to bulk-bill all Health Assessment and Chronic Disease Management Plans. This decision has not been made lightly, and is necessary due to the ongoing discrepancy between operating a general practice clinic and low increases to Medicare rebates offered by the Federal Government. A full list of fees is available at Reception. Please speak with our team if you have any questions.
