Special Interests

All areas of General Practice, particularly mental health, dermatology, paediatrics, elderly medicine and palliative care

Dr Nicola McLernan joined Family Health Group in December 2017. Originally from Scotland, she studied Medicine at the University of Sheffield in the UK, graduating in 2008.

Keen for new adventures and tropical medicine experience, she hopped on a plane to Australia in 2011.  Initially she spent 2 years in the Northern Territory working in hospitals in Darwin and Katherine, before meeting her husband and moving to Adelaide.

She worked in various hospitals across Adelaide, then undertook rural GP training in South Australia, working in Millicent in the South East, Tanunda and Goolwa.  She obtained RACGP fellowship in 2016.

Dr Nicola loves all areas of General Practice, particularly mental health, dermatology, paediatrics, elderly medicine and palliative care.

She enjoys getting outdoors with her family and getting creative in her garden.

Fees update

As of 17th July  2023, our fees have increased slightly. There will be a small gap payment on all consults for those who are over the age of 16 and do not have a concession.
Bulk billing will also no longer be available on weekends.

Why is there a gap?

The Medicare rebate does not fully cover the cost of providing good quality care. The rebate has been kept at the same level for many years whilst costs have increased much more.
Therefore, from 1 January 2023, you will need to pay a gap fee for your consult. Please click here for more information.
