About our fees

The doctors practising at Elizabeth Family Health Care have now introduced mixed billing to the practice. There is now a gap payment on all consults for those who are over the age of 16 and do not have a concession.
Bulk billing will also no longer be available on weekends. For more information, please speak to our friendly reception team. 

WHY IS THERE A GAP?

The Medicare rebate does not fully cover the cost of providing good quality care. The rebate has been kept at the same level for many years whilst costs have increased much more. Therefore, from 1 January 2023, you will need to pay a gap fee for your consult. We offer Medicare Online Claiming, so any Medicare Rebate can be paid directly to your bank account immediately, as long as you have a savings account card.

Fees from 17 July 2023

8am – 6pm Monday to Friday – Patients over 16 years old, and Non-Concession Cardholders

Pensioners, Concession Cardholders and Children under 16 are bulk-billed on Monday – Friday

Additional fees

Procedures, such as skin lesion removal, are subject to an additional fee of $40 for treatment room costs. More complicated minor surgery will incur a higher fee which will be explained by your GP.

Mirena insertion fee $189.70, Medicare rebate $79.70, gap payable $110.00.

Iron infusion fee $151.20, Medicare rebate $41.20, gap payable $110.00

Cancellations

Please call us if you cannot attend your appointment.

We work hard to provide our patients with exceptional care. If you cannot attend your appointment, please call us to cancel it so we can make that time available to another patient needing our help.

Please understand that we assign highly trained nurses and doctors for these appointments, and there are many other patients who would appreciate this time. With appropriate notice, we can give your appointment to someone else.

Fees for unattended appointments will be charged as follows:

Weekdays
$30.00 fee for appointment not cancelled within 2 hours of the scheduled appointment time.

Saturdays
$30.00 fee for appointment not cancelled within 2 hours of the scheduled appointment time.

Care Plan appointments
$30.00 fee for a Care Plan appointment not cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time.
