Dr Nicola McLernan

Dr Nicola McLernan joined Family Health Group in December 2017. Originally from Scotland, she studied Medicine at the University of Sheffield in the UK, graduating in 2008.

Keen for new adventures and tropical medicine experience, she hopped on a plane to Australia in 2011. Initially, she spent two years in the Northern Territory working in hospitals in Darwin and Katherine before moving to Adelaide.  

She undertook rural GP training in South Australia and obtained RACGP fellowship in 2016.

Dr Nicola loves all areas of General Practice, and has special interests in mental health and dermatology.  

She provides comprehensive skin cancer checks as well as skin excisions. She also provides birth control implant insertions/removals and iron infusions.  

She is a registered provider of Focussed Psychological Strategies for patients with a Mental Health Care Plan.  

Outside of work, she is a keen hockey player, a wine and gin lover, and enjoys outdoor adventures with her two children.
